These terms cover your use of the HanTok app. By using it you agree to them.
What HanTok is
HanTok helps you learn Korean by watching short clips with interactive transcripts. It's a study tool. We don't promise you'll reach any particular level of fluency — that depends on you.
Subscriptions and billing
- HanTok requires a subscription. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.
- The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us. We cannot issue refunds directly.
Video content
Clips play through YouTube's embedded player. The videos are hosted by YouTube and belong to the channels that made them — we do not host, own, or claim rights to them. Your use of that video content is also governed by YouTube's Terms of Service.
Videos can become unavailable at any time if a creator removes one or changes its settings. When that happens the clip stops working and we move on to the next. We can't guarantee any specific clip stays available.
Transcripts and explanations
Transcripts, translations and word explanations are provided to help you study. Some are generated by AI and may be wrong. Don't rely on them for anything consequential — a translation in a study app is not professional translation, and shouldn't be treated as such.
Fair use of the service
Don't try to break, overload, or work around the app or its servers, and don't use automated tools to bulk-extract content from it. If you do, we may block access.
Your content and data
The words you save and your review history are yours, and stay on your device. See the Privacy Policy.
Availability
We aim to keep HanTok working, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and content may be added or removed.
Liability
HanTok is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law in your country, which apply regardless of these terms.
Ending your access
You can stop using HanTok at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may suspend access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date above will change, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the update.
